I've thought of that, and I've also considered just zapping the 'category' feature entirely, and putting in full-text search instead. Categories just don't seem that useful -- since no 2 entries ever have the same category label (almost), the category labels don't seem to group similar entries together, like they are supposed to. (Half the time people put non-categories like "help" in the category field anyway). Reply · Spam/Junk

Well, if people knew what the preexisting categories where, then they'd be inclined to use them, I think. So make it a drop down list that shows what all of the other categories are (maybe sort it out by letter too, so that it would be easier to browse) and make one last option at the very bottom called <NEW CATEGORY> which spawns a popup where you enter a new category description, et all. Also, if you need some help putting together a list of all of the categories that already exist (and possibly created a list of categories that SHOULD exist,) I might be able to help. :) I have a lot of free time on my hands. the categories idea might work better if there were separate topics, like there would be in a forum. the other benefit of forums are that each topic could have regulars that are experts in googling (i consider myself to be a near expert.) Reply · Spam/Junk
